BLOG TIME!

Clovis Volunteers! We want to thank you for tuning into our weekly blog- the best place to be on the web! Here are some things to keep you in the loop of what's going on and how we can go to the next level:

               BAP RECAP!
It's hard to put into words how fantastic it was to witness 103 people get baptized last night! Young and old lined up on either side of our sanctuary to take part in a miracle of a lifetime. Praise God!

Thank you for coming out to support those that made that wonderful decision and another big thank you to those that participated. We promise that the water was warm ONLY because we used a heater! :)

   BIG, FAT, AWESOME WEEKEND!
Building up this next weekend with some words on a blog is really like trying to explain Disney Land to someone- you just have to experience it for yourself! Pastor Randy and the rest of the staff are in great anticipation for this weekend and we hope that you are too. Our "original" crazy uncle, Damon Thompson, will be with us starting Saturday night which is a service NOT to miss! Pastor truly believes that this Saturday night is going to kick us off strong and has encouraged us to tell you to be there at any cost!

Let's be aggressive in inviting people and let's be expecting BIG things for our own lives. Why not?! What's there to lose by stepping out on the water? God wants to show Himself strong in our lives, let's give Him that chance this weekend!

                                                    LET'S PARTY!
Has the sweet smell of seasonal drinks and the enchanting glow of Christmas lights come back around again? Is it already December?! I feel like I was just getting a sunburn from swimming in the pool!

Whether you've been naughty or nice this year there's no going back now, because it's Christmas time baby!

The Clovis Staff would like to formally invite you to a Christmas Party on Friday evening, on the 14th of December. We are mapping out some of the final plans, so the remaining details will come soon, we just wanted to make sure you save the date!

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK!

Taylor Burgess
This good looking guy has been a tremendous asset to the Clovis campus for a long time now. Those great camera shots that you may see on the weekend are most likely from Taylor, and he is faithful weekend after weekend to put his heart and soul into his job. He goes out of his way to make people and teenagers feel welcome on our campus and we are so thankful to have him around. Thanks Taylor for being a super star Volunteer!

Thanks everyone! We'll see you soon!

This year I'm thankful for...CLOVIS VOLUNTEERS!

We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to our Clovis Volunteers!! Your time, effort, sweat, heart, passion, and love that you pour out every week does NOT go unnoticed. It's because of you that we are able to see lives changed and added to the kingdom daily. We know without a shadow of a doubt that we run with the BEST volunteers than any other church and we value and appreciate you so much! We can't do this without you and we wouldn't want to! This Thanksgiving we thank God for YOU! Thank you for laying your lives down for others and the kingdom of God. We love you and we know great things are ahead for you. Again, hear us shout it out THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Happy Thanksgiving :)
Love, Lance, Gi & the Clovis Staff

Besides getting a warm, fuzzy feeling from reading about how much we love and adore you, we also want thank you in another way:

This weekend we will have Fresno Monster tickets (hockey team) that we are giving away, ONLY TO VOLUNTEERS! We have a limited amount of tickets, so we will be giving them out on a first come, first serve basis. To pick up your ticket or tickets (for your immediate family only), please go to the Connection Point in the lobby and give them the code word: MONSTERS. Then enjoy the game! - Only those who read the blog this week will know how to get em'!

Cannon Ball!
On Wednesday, November 28th we will have united Water Baptisms on the Clovis campus. Being water baptized is an important step of obedience after receiving Christ into your life. Throughout the year we offer you and your family the opportunity to take part in this life-changing moment. Instruction on what baptism is, and how it affects you takes place prior to being baptized. Sign-ups will be available at the connection tables this weekend. And if you’ve already been baptized with us, we encourage you to come out that night to support and celebrate with us!

                                   Volunteers of the Week

                                        Ralph and Sam!

Truly some of 2SM's greatest team players! This dynamic duo is always ready and willing to serve, even on their off weeks! They do a fantastic job going above and beyond every weekend and Tuesday night, connecting with students that they come into contact with. Thank you so much Ralph and Sam for your dedication and commitment to seeing 2SM thrive; we love and appreciate you two!

Thanks everyone! Let's go into this weekend pumped and full of expectation -    not turkey!

Thank You Clovis!

Muchos Gracias!!!!
As you can see, there are not enough words in our English language to thank all of you for doing such a terrific job this last weekend- THANK YOU! Didn't you just love seeing our building packed with people?! Thank you for mobilizing and getting out into the community to invite friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors.
In a meeting this last week, Pastor Randy was describing how over joyed he was by our amazing Volunteers. He absolutely appreciated every ounce of work that you contributed to making this last weekend a success; we feel so honored to work with you to build the kingdom of God.
Let's keep in mind that the "seeds" sown this last weekend, and the words spoken by God through the speakers might not happen immediately this next weekend, but give that seed some time and then comes the huge harvest! Let's expect and mix faith with not only what took place corporately, but also individually.
What's goin' on:
Looks like Rain!
The Rain series still available for purchase this weekend in the lobby, along with our fantastic worship cds. Make sure you get yours before they’re gone! (Or how about a Christmas gift for that special someone- huh???)
Celebrate Family- Christmas Outreach
Registration for this year’s Christmas outreach is available! Our focus is going to be on ensuring that families in Celebration have a quality Christmas, so if you need assistance this year, or would like to nominate a family, forms will be available at the Events and Outreaches table in the lobby. If you have any more questions, please see the table as well. This is going to be the best Christmas yet!
Wednesday Nights
On the Wall prayer at the Clovis campus from 7-8pm, is where it's at! Pastor Randy believes that gathering together and praying corporately is one of the most important and powerful things we could ever do for our own lives and for our church. We had an amazing time this last Wednesday and we still have one more to go!

The Volunteer of Week is…

Eddie Montoya!!!
What can we say about Eddie Montoya?
E= Extrodinary
Have you seen his work? Here's a clue- You have worn it recently (Conference T-shirts) and you looked at it all weekend! (stage design)
D= Dedicated
No matter what the task, Eddie rises to the occasion.
D= Dope
Yah he is...especially at skateboarding.
I= Intellegent
Not just any average Joe can think up those awesome designs!
E= Easy
Easy to work with!
This weekend when you see Eddie volunteering in the Production department, make sure to show him some love!
Thanks Clovis- We are extremely thankful for each one of you :)

BLEED FOR FC2012!!!

Do you bleed Fall Conference 2012?!

Life is short. Really short. Eternity is long. Really long.

Take a second and identify people that you know are NOT saved. This shouldn't take you too long.

Now, the staff is not asking, but requiring that you invite them to this conference!!!

We can assure you that we are going to do our part to make these nights fun, exciting, and very inviting for a new person to attend, so let's work together to get the word out!

Here are some ways you can do that:

1. Flyers
You do not have to be technologically savvy to work one of these bad boys! Just grab and pass! The truth of the matter is that these flyers do us no good after November 12th. So whatever cards you grabbed that are still in your car or your purse let's get those out ASAP!

2. Social Media
Ok this part is for all of you tech nerds! Let's break this into 3 parts-- Facebook, Twitter, and E-mail.

- Facebook
Want to make your Facebook post pop with life and get tons of "likes?" Then drag this Conference image onto your desktop and use it for a Facebook post. If you want extra credit you can SHARE the image with specific friends and add it to their wall so they definitely won't miss it!

-Twitter
Be apart of our Twitter Challenge! Here's the challenge: after every invite you did for the conference, tweet about it on Twitter. Make sure to include the hash-tag- #CCfc2012 (That stands for Celebration Church Fall Conference 2012) so that you can become a potential giftcard winner that will be chosen at the end of every day. It's been so fun reading about the different ways people have been inviting- keep it up!

-E-mail
On our church website, we have made it so easy for you to invite someone through e-mail. Just simply click this link [E-VITE] to get you there and follow the steps!

3. Use your IMAGINATION!
Don't just let these things be the only way for you to invite! Be creative and true to yourself. Are you the type of person that likes to bake things and give them to people? Great! Attach one of those conference flyers on those delicious cookies and invite em'! Mow someone's yard, take someone to coffee, bribe a co-worker with lunch that afternoon, send a text, a voice mail, phone call, snail mail---Let's use whatever resources and ability God has given us to reach our bubble (sphere of influence)!

4. Pray
Most importantly we need everyone praying for this conference. Let's pray and believe for big things! As a staff we are hooking up with Pastor and believing that we are going to see every service filled with 1,600 people! That's a BIG number! Let's stretch our faith and start confessing and saying out of our mouth everyday that we are going to see this building full!

On that note, let's confess and believe some things right now over our campus!

(A voice memo from your Campus Pastor)

Volunteers of the Week

Kenny and Joyce!

Can anyone say, "Life of the Party!" This couple is the definition of fun! Where ever these two are you can always find laughing, fun, and excitement, and we are honored to have them apart of our team. You may catch them in the Lounge during the weekend, serving drinks or helping someone find a book. These two are always willing to cover shifts and step in for anyone that needs some extra help. Being a generationally driven movement, these two have positioned themselves to be those "mothers and fathers" that we need, and they certainly carry the same passion and energy as the next generation! This last weekend they did a tremendous job getting to the front and setting a great atmosphere for the service and had tremendous passion for the Word as it was being taught. We love you Kenny and Joyce and are honored to be running this race called life with you!

Love you all! Let's have a kick butt weekend together!

#CCfc2012

Anybody excited about our Fall 2012 Conference?! Check out this clip by John Bevere- it's sure to wet your appetite and get your expectancy level up to the ceiling!

We want to thank those or you that came to our Vision Rally last Saturday- if you missed it, we are truly sorry because we had an amazing time! Here are a few quick points that we covered to catch you up to speed:

                 1)  Our speaking guests! Like we have talked about- the men that will be joining us for this conference are making tremendous impact in this world, and we are highly privileged to have them with us. Pastor never brings anyone to our church flippantly or "just because", he believes that what God has given them, can get off on us, and we need every bit of it if we are going to impact our city! We never exalt or glorify man, but we do honor them and honor what God has put inside of them to build up the church. If you'd like more information on these individuals, please visit our website and see the attached links for them.

                2) There are two target audiences for this conference. The first audience that this conference is directed towards, is us! Like we mentioned in the above paragraph, Pastor believes that God is going to work through these men to see us finish the rest of this year strong. We believe that each service will be packed with something for everyone that calls Celebration their home. Secondly this conference is to bring people to Jesus! Every opportunity we get we are going to spread our nets and expect a huge catch! The atmosphere of these conference nights are going to be very safe, and comfortable for anyone new that shows up to our campus; so with that said, make sure to get your friends and family there!

                3) Let's get the word out! We can't keep this the best kept secret so here are some ways to spread the news!

  • Club Flyers-- We have stacks of club flyers that you are free to take and pass out (Ideas: Starbucks billboards, Apartment complexes, co-workers, post them up in the break room, etc.)
  • T-shirts- Want to become a walking billboard? It's a great way to get conversation generated and we also want all of our volunteers to wear them during the conference. They are only $10 and you can order them this weekend!
  • Social Media- We have a great free tool for marketing right at our fingertips! Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and whatever else there is! With that said, let's talk about our Invite Challenge!
               4) INVITE CHALLENGE!!! At Celebration, we are using any and every tool to help spread the gospel into our world and one tool that we can use involves a little blue bird called Twitter! Twitter is a social media product similar to Facebook that people use to spread news quickly. If you want to learn more about Twitter please see us at the Twitter station this weekend so that we can help you.

Our challenge is this-- After every invite opportunity you get, tweet about it on Twitter and include the hash-tag- #CCfc2012. (That stands for Celebration Church Fall Conference 2012)

At the end of every day leading up to the conference, someone's story will be chosen and they will win a giftcard for participating!

              4) Cirque de Celebration! We may have a difficult time keeping the adults out of the classrooms during the conference! The kids will be having an absolute blast as they enjoy the "circus" theme and all of the fun that comes along with it. Games, attractions, and more! If your children are wanting to bring friends, this is the time to bring them!

It's our job as leaders to help make this conference a success. If we all do our part this thing will be a piece of cake and extremely fun for everyone! But if only 65% of us do our part then we will only make 65% of the impact that we could make. Think about how you can promote, how you can get involved, and how you can be praying for a life changing weekend!

Volunteer of the Week

Marcus Cervantes!

Oh what can you say about Marcus! Most of us have seen Marcus on the mobile camera on stage, getting great shots of the band and crowd during worship, making it look like a state of the art concert! Wherever something fun is happening, Marcus is usually the one making it happen, bringing fun and life to any situation. A big reason that Marcus was chosen was because of his die hard commitment to seeing our building all put back together after our Men's and Women's Word Works! That place is a huge mess after those nights and Marcus has spent hours after it's over helping us put that place back together. Thank you Marcus for being a tremendous leader on our campus- we wouldn't want to do it without you!

Thanks everyone for tuning in to the blog, let's have a fantastic weekend together!
With hugs, love, and kisses-

Committed and Fitted Together- Clovis Volunteers!

If you're reading this blog, chances are you are one of the many committed volunteers to come to this church. We would like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for all that you do and for being COMMITTED! We wouldn't want to do this without you!

What's on the plate?

As you know, coming up on November 9th through the 12th, we are having our 2012 Fall Conference! In order for this epic event to take place and make a tremendous impact on this city, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

This Saturday, October 20th, 9am at our Clovis Campus, we're holding our Vision Rally for the Fall Conference. Allow me to mathematically paint a picture of what this Vision Rally will be like.

 1. Disneyland + Fresno Fair multiplied by Jesus = VISION RALLY
2. High School Homecoming + Prom multiplied by the years since you've graduated = VISION RALLY
3. (Word problem) If Las Vegas got saved from being the "city of sin" on a Thursday, then Friday had a meeting with God at 4 o'clock by Saturday, 9am what will happen? = VISION RALLY!!!

The point is, you CAN'T MISS THIS! Here is an exclusive sneak peak at Carl Lentz and his ministry...

                                   Volunteer of the Week

Ruben Otero!

Ruben is definitely what we would call a team player. He has served faithfully on the Parking Team and is always willing to lend a helping hand. In fact, this last Sunday, Ruben went above and beyond the call of duty by helping us prepare for our Word Works and Men's Workshops by staying after service stacking tons of chairs! He also shows great initiative in our Men's Workshop every week by coming early to help check in the multitudes of hungry men that show up on Wednesday night. Thank you Ruben for your wonderful support and COMMITMENT! We love working with you!

Let's get this city saved!

Hey Clovis Volunteers! So glad that you tuned into the blog today!

Didn't we have some amazing services this last weekend?! Make sure to get the CDs or the Podcasts, and get those teachings deep within us! As a staff we want to make sure that our campus doesn't have a lull after that powerful weekend- let's make sure to keep the intensity up and our expectation high for this weekend and the weeks to come.

So the question is-- Who are you bringing THIS WEEKEND??? There are still so many people that need to hear the Good News, so let's go get em'!

Important Campus News:

Volunteer of the Week-
                                        Jennifer Banuelos!

Jennifer is always willing to come and fill in for anybody at anytime.  She always goes above and beyond what is expected of her and is great at identifying a need, and takes the initiative to solve it.   Thank you for all your dedication and hard work Jennifer! Keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone- let's have a great weekend together!
