Buenos Dias Clovis Leaders!

The Clovis Staff is so happy to be running this race called life with you, you're such great runners!  As we look over prior years we can clearly see that we are light-years ahead of where we used to be, and we are expecting that the latter part of this year will be the best yet! We love you and can't wait to see all the amazing things that God is going to do in your lives; He loves us more than we can imagine!

Wonderful Weekend!

Can you smell it in the air? Can you feel it in your toes? God is about to rock our world this weekend just like He always does! Come kick off the fall season not with a football but with services galore! We know that we don't have to sell you on our Special Services, we've got you all hooked like fish, now we just need your help hooking others into coming! Ha! Just kidding- Here's some things to look out for this weekend:

- Damon Thompson speaking Saturday night and Sunday night
- Pastor Randy will be speaking in the Sunday morning services
- Keep your eyes out for free popcorn and popsicles!
- Bounce house for the kids!
- Light reception for Andrew and Jaclyn (the newlyweds) after Sunday night services

God will be there too. And that always makes it worth coming :)

Offered to those 18 years and older.

Volunteer of the Week!

Tavo Rivera!

Tavo or as Riley Burgess calls him, Taco, has really stepped up his game this last week! Going above the call of duty, Tavo is an avid greeter, always willing to step in and help cover other people's shift. He was also a team player by coming in every day last week to help with lights for our morning prayer services and frequently aids us at the weekend tables. Have you enjoyed a tasty, cool treat this last summer? If you have, you probably received it from the hands of Taco. Whoops, I mean Tavo. We love and appreciate you Tavo and are excited to see all the amazing things God is going to do in your life!

Bowling, Game Night, and...Justin Bieber?

Well, well, well, we meet again...and not a moment to soon!

Hey Clovis Volunteers, this is great! We GET to serve along side each and every one of you! Thank you so much for the hard work and the full effort you bring to every service and event. You guys are truly making it happen!

Sooo many things going on here at Celebration:

• Anybody "single"? Well we have a delightful event just for you! Tonight all the single ladies and gents 30 years and over are getting together for bowling at Rodeo Lanes at 7PM. Cost is only $10! Come hang out with friends and meet some new faces as well!
• We also have a great event for matured adults! For those of us who are 50 years and older, we are getting together tonight for games at the Vivian's from 7-9PM. Bring a tasty dessert and your game face cause it's gonna be a party at Rick and Lisa's!
• Last but certainly not least, 2SM is hosting an event especially for junior-high to highschool aged kids called the THE BASH. It's gonna be a united back yard bash at our Fresno location this upcoming Tuesday, August 28th! Free food, a live DJ, giveaway giftcards from Tilly's, Forever 21, Starbucks, Jamba...What more could a junior high or highschooler ask for? Did we mention the grand prize raffle is Justin Bieber tickets? Just get them to the Fresno Campus at 7PM, we'll take care of the rest!

 Patty Micheli!!!

 

What a wonderful person Patty is! We just want to thank you and recognize you as someone that has gone over and above these last few weeks, really helping to make our Clovis Campus a better place. Patty is a glowing light behind Guest Services, guiding and directing people with whatever they need. Patty also helped in a big way for the backpack outreach; working behind the scenes to make the event happen- helping Sherissa keep her sanity! We love you Patty and can't thank you enough for always putting your best foot forward!

...and to every volunteer reading this blog, thank you so much for your faithfullness and dedication to serving the kingdom of God. Every smile, every handshake, and every act of kindness is making a difference! Keep it up! See you all this weekend!

Celebration Exposed 

Know anyone new to Celebration? Once a month, following our Sunday morning service, the staff hosts a free lunch for new attendees to enjoy. As they sit, relax, and build relationships, they will get the opportunity to hear what Celebration is all about, and what we have to offer. Sign-ups are available at the Visitor Lounge. 

We will be having one this weekend!

Starting Point 

Come and discover how to practically develop your relationship with Christ.  This class will provide you with resources, give you the opportunity to ask questions, meet the some of the staff, and enjoy some food while you’re there. Sign-ups are available at our Workshop table in the Lobby. Childcare is provided. Please help us get people to our next one which is this coming Wednesday, August 22nd!

Nic Jennings!!!

Nic helps in Kic! Just thought that was a funny play on words... Nic is one dedicated KiC volunteer! Even though at times finding a way to get to church isn't always easy, every service he is there early with a great attitude. Leading the charge in Big Kic in their production area, he makes the services shine! Thank you Nic for being a faithful volunteer, spending so much of your energy pouring into the next generation. We love working with you every week, and look forward to the bright days ahead! Thanks Kic Nic!

Phil Marquez!!!

Phil is the poster child for going above and beyond! Him and his wife have been consistently hosting a Home Workshop for the last couple months and helping numerous people in their walk with God. Phil has also helped us greatly as it pertains to our Backpack Outreach, going around town passing out flyers. He's always engaged in service, celebrating the Word as it's being preached and making a ruckus where ever he is at! Did I mention he and his wife also serve faithfully in the Lounge?! What a guy! Thank you Phil for being such a great man of God on our campus and helping to expand the Kingdom, we love you! 

Making the Difference

It can be hard at times to measure success. Questions arise in our minds like:

How do I know if what I'm doing is working? Does my life count for anything? Is my Volunteer role really important? 

I can guarantee you Clovis Volunteers that every one of those 92 people that were baptized last night are thankful that the doors of Celebration are open! Thank you for making it possible for people to come in every week and make the best decision they've ever made in their lives-

You are truly making a difference! Thank you!

A message from Pastor Lance...
I just wanted to take a second and put my voice on the significance of this upcoming weekend. Pastor Randy is back, fired up, and launching a new series called "winning". Now don't get me wrong... it's still summer, it's still raining, and we are still believing for rain in our lives! In fact, we are still gathering on Wednesday nights for what Pastor is calling "rain services," as we transition from asking for rain to receiving God's rain. But we are moving into a new series on the weekends where we will empower people to live a successful & above average life... A life that is "winning"! We also have Glen Berteau here for a special Sunday night service. Pastor truly believes that Glen's voice is significant for our church, much like Damon, so let's pack our campus out & see how God impacts our lives. 

I said all that to say this, Pastor Randy is in great expectation for this to be a "momentum building weekend" for the people of Celebration. As leaders, let's rally behind him & stir up our expectation, as well as the expectation of those on our teams to be the force behind this big weekend. That means this can be a weekend where momentum builds in you & your families. What has seemed tough, hard & full of resistance in your lives can become an easy and effortless when you have the momentum of Heaven backing you. Let's release great faith this weekend for God to move in a powerful way!

Amy Lee!!!

Amy has been a poster child for Volunteering lately. Going above and beyond, she has been inviting people like crazy to our church services and even to our Workshop classes. Always willing to step in and cover at a moments notice she has stepped in for people time after time being a tremendous team player. Thank you Amy for making a difference in people's life and for sharing your warm smile with everyone that walks through those doors. Thank you!
