VOLUNTEERS = AWESOME

Fabulous, incredible, fantastic, dedicated- just a few of the many words that best describe our Clovis Volunteers! Once again, thank you so much for your faithful service and dedication to what God is doing at Celebration, together we make a great team! Thank you for taking the time to read this blog, we believe strongly in equipping you as leaders so here's the inside scoop:

As you know, Celebration is all about seeing people saved and brought into the Kingdom of God, but we are also all about developing people that have made this decision to follow Christ. To aid in the lifelong journey of development we have a Discipleship Class for anyone that wants to be involved. This class teaches basic, Biblical fundamentals that boost a believer's walk with Christ and sets a compass for the rest of their life. Next Tuesday, February 26th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm we will set our sails for this adventure and we wanted to extend an invite to you as volunteers, even if you think you've got it all together you can still come! Besides walking away with a packet as a great resource for you, we will also be having food and childcare available. Please help us get the word out to those you come in contact with this weekend and if you know someone who might be interested in coming, get them signed up at Guest Services!

Is your current financial state frustrating to you? Are you drowning in debt? Do you have questions about money but are unsure who to talk to? Well too stinkin' bad, you're just going to have to live with it.

NOT ON OUR WATCH!!!

God's plan for you is to prosper in EVERY aspect of your life, and that includes your finances! Coming up in March, we are going to be starting a Financial Workshop that we all wanted you to be aware of. We talked about it in our Men's Workshop this last Wednesday, but before we release it to the entire congregation we wanted to give Volunteers first dibs at signing up. Financial Peace is a four week workshop taught by none other than Dave Ramsey himself! The class will be filled with food and fun but you will also receive worksheets that correlate with the DVD teaching. The amount of sign-ups we receive will determine what day we will conduct the class on, but we know for sure that it will take place either on a Wednesday night or a Thursday night. Sign-ups will be available this weekend at the Men's and Women's table and the cost is $10 a person or $15 a couple, please sign-up as soon as possible, thanks!

An interesting thing phenomenon occurred that I think I should make you privy to- we have TWO VOLUNTEERS OF THE WEEK! By going above and beyond the call of duty these two wonderful people tied for first place with our staff so we decided to pick them both!

Rudy Carreon
What a valuable team player Rudy has been! Once this man started serving, we haven't been able to shake him! You can catch Rudy before service with his whole family prepping the sanctuary and then later greeting everyone that comes in with a warm smile and hello. He never lets an obstacle get in his way to serve God's people and we want to publicly recognize him and his tremendous efforts to the Clovis Campus. Thank you Rudy for going above and beyond every weekend to see lives changed for the glory of God- you are awesome!

Priscilla Muro
No person can escape the wonderful smile Priscilla shares as you walk by the Events and Outreach Table and just recently she contributed to an outreach and went above and beyond the call of duty! The Ronald McDonald House Outreach that took place last Saturday was a huge success, and whether you know it or not Priscilla was a key player to making that special day happen. Thank you Priscilla for giving of your time, resources, and energy to see the Kingdom of God advance, it's an honor serving with you!

What can we say? We so appreciate each one of you and what you contribute to the whole. Celebration would not be where it is at today without the love and dedication of it's volunteers. Let's have a great weekend together shall we? Let's be expecting God to move mightily in these services and do signs, wonders, and miracles! I signed up to see God's power and glory move in this Valley didn't you?! We love you and we will see you this weekend :)

Wonderful Weather, Wonderful Volunteers

Hey Clovis Volunteers, hasn't this spring been wonderful! Just kidding, this weather has been absolutely wonderful, considering that it's winter! It's almost been as wonderful as you- spreading your smiles like warm rays of sunshine to everyone that passes through our doors. We appreciate you and love working with you week after week to see souls saved; what a joy that is!

Here is a quick leadership blog we came across that can really help if we apply it's principles. Hope you enjoy it!

Put Them Out

Usually leadership or spiritual growth books and articles are focused around adding things to your life.

A new principle.
A new practice.
A new person.
Many times that can be good, and sometimes even necessary. But I’m learning more and more that the opposite is just as if not more important…removing things from your life.
As great as it is to add to your life, if there are things in your life that are taking up space or are exerting a negative influence, they will quench whatever good the good things could bring.
Who cares if you learn a new principle if the old ones you’re still living by contradict it?
Who cares if you adopt a new practice if your life is too cluttered to actually practice it?
Who cares if you hire an A+ staffer if the rest are D-?
What if going to the next level in your leadership and your walk with God didn’t look like putting something in, but instead putting something out?
Maybe it’s:

- The insecurities in your life that are keeping you from believing God.
- The excuses that are keeping you from obeying the voice of the Lord when He calls you to greater, higher places.
- The fears that are raging in your mind that try to confront your faith and back you down from believing God that the best days of your life are ahead of you.
- The regrets of your past that are trying to paralyze the potential of your future by keeping the spotlight on who you used to be and keeping the potential of who you might become in the dark.
- The voices of negative people who always have 1,001 reasons why it won’t work, but won’t lift a finger to help you get to the place where God wants you to be.
- The people who are keeping you tethered to your old way of life before you came to God.
- Old paradigms of thinking that are just too small for what God wants to do in and through you.
Whatever it is, one difficult but essential solution is required for each of these if you want to go to the next level: Put them out.
Or they’ll put your chances of going to the next level out.

Just wanted to remind you guys that our Volunteer Masquerade Ball is coming up soon on Sunday night, February 26th! It's gonna be a spectacular night that you cannot miss! There will be a delectable dinner, delightful fellowship, and don't forget- dancing! It's vital that if you are wanting to be apart that you sign-up and make your payment this weekend, we are needing an accurate head count by Sunday so get to that table as soon as possible. We are looking forward to spending the evening with you and your family!
Last but not least, ladies and gentlemen, we would proudly like to announce that our Volunteer of the Week is...

Chico Ayson!!!

Thank you Chico so much for your dedication and determination! You are an asset to Celebration Church and we appreciate you giving 100% every time you step foot on the campus. An extra prayer for you this week!
Thank you everyone, let's expect big things from God this weekend. He's ready to rock our world if we will just give Him the chance. Love you all :)

What Fun!

Clovis Volunteers!

I feel like we could write so many thank you cards to each one of you that it would fill up an entire swimming pool! Could you imagine that? Swimming in a pool of hundreds of thank you cards, written just for you?! Besides receiving a ton of paper cuts that could be fun! In all seriousness we appreciate everyone of your individual talent and ability, and most of all your eagerness to be apart of something that's bigger than yourself. Thank you!

The Clovis Campus was quite a stir this last Wednesday evening and if you skipped out because you were watching your favorite Soap Opera rerun, you missed out! The place was like a human bee hive, buzzing with activity and life and we want to thank all of you that came out and were apart of making that night a success. Remember we have four more opportunities to get together this month so if you're not currently signed up for our Men's and Women's Workshop, you can do so at the appropriate tables this weekend. Never have I seen the men, women, youth, and children, having so much fun together in one place, so come join the fun and invite someone with you. In other words- Don't be a fun hog! And I don't know about you, but I don't want to get to Heaven and have to tell God why I missed opportunity after opportunity to invite my friends to experience Him- let's be aggressive inviters!

HALAL! YADHAH! --- You better have shot your hands up in praise when you read that! ----
We just wanted to give a friendly reminder to be a doer of the Word that was taught this last week. Have you told God how awesome He is today, or how thankful you are to be His? Remember what Pastor said, "Praise is the environment in which the believer experiences victory," and I don't know about you but I need some victory working in my life! Don't miss part two of Pastor's message this weekend, it's sure to change us if we will accept it and do it!

An elegant dinner, formal attire, masks of every sort and color, dancing- am I describing a Disney dream come true? No! I'm just giving you the itinerary for our Volunteer Masquerade Ball coming up on February 26th! Come be apart of this special night as we honor you and your family for all of your efforts as a volunteer. It's not everyday that you get invited to a Masquerade Ball! The cost is $25 a head, which includes your ticket and dinner so make sure to set aside some money so that you can participate. Also, please sign-up (Events and Outreach Table) as soon as you can, this will greatly help us as we continue planning out the event, thank you!

We are approaching Super Bowl weekend and it's game time- Phil Munsey is in DA HOUSE! That's right, I just said "in da house" on the blog! Sunday night, at 6pm, we have a game plan that's sure to give us the winning touchdown that will continue to give us direction and take us further than we've ever gone before. And just so you know, the Giants are going to win, just like Pastor Lance said, so there's just no use watching the game...sorry.

SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND!!!

Blog Time!

I'm sure you've all seen it: the bratty kid who seems to get everything yet continues to fuss for more- I always wanted to punch that kid in the mouth but that's another issue all by itself. The point is, I know we could all use more, but let's first take a second to thank God for everything He's already done! Aren't you glad that God didn't let us continue on with our own plans for January; they would have been so boring in comparison to the miraculous days that He orchestrated for us! From life altering services, countless salvations, and droves of people being baptized, Celebration has absolutely encountered a touch from God. The list of miracles that have taken place in just this month alone is astronomical and I hope our hearts as leaders shout a thundering, "THANK YOU GOD!" And besides all that, the great thing about God is that with Him things continue to get better and better! Don't sink into a spiritual slumber and allow there to be a lull, push on ahead with God and experience those things that eye hasn't seen and ear hasn't heard; give way to that radical side! These are the days that will continue to live on in our memories, and it has been an absolute pleasure to live them with you :).

In other news:

If you haven't heard by now, you must be living under a rock! Beginning Wednesday, February 1st at 7pm, our Men's and Women's Workshops are back in action! The next five weeks are going to be amazing so please so don't miss out! Help us spread the word by picking up some invite cards at the Men's and Women's table and let's get them into the hands of everybody that we can possibly think of. That's your mother, sister, brother, neighbor, cashier, bus boy, waitress, and don't forget about your drive through attendant at Taco Bell.  As leaders let's get excited and stir ourselves up to make sure that these workshops are a hit! And remember, these workshops are not just limited to men and women but we have something for the whole family. For the 5th and 6th grade boys and girls we have Fight and Treasure Chest and for the 7th through 12th graders we've got our Two Groups starting. We've got something for everyone! Except for your dog fluffy, sorry.

For all new volunteers who started in December we will be having our Volunteer Orientation this Sunday following our Sunday morning service in Big Kic. Besides getting to take a picture with Mickey at Disney Land this is probably the next best thing! We want to empower you with the understanding of why we serve and give you the chance to ask any questions you may have for the Clovis Staff and our Managers. Also, I am giving you a heads up, we will be taking your picture! No need for your Sunday's best however, it's just a head shot.

Our hearts ooze with love for you all and we can't wait to see you this weekend!

Oozing with love,
Clovis Staff

Wow, what a week!

Hey Leaders! Wow, what a week!

Tuesday night: We met over 80 people who committed/recommitted their lives to God. We fed them and their families dinner, celebrated with them, and encouraged them to get plugged in to church life.

Wednesday night: We witnessed 103 people get baptized! They made an outward expression of what God has done in their lives and many of them received miracles because of their expectation. It was a night that couldn't be planned, God interrupted our service and we had an amazing time in His presence. If you weren't there you totally missed out!

Thursday: We honored a wonderful leader, Tim May, who has been promoted and went home to be with the Lord. The May's are a wonderful asset to this ministry and all though we will miss Tim deeply we know he is in our future. Deanna, Rachel, & Morgan we will continue to pray for the peace of God to guard your heart's and mind's!  Thank you to all of those who came out to be a support to the May's and honor a man of God.

Now today, Friday, We are stirring ourselves up for an awesome weekend. The message this weekend is a MUST-HEAR in order to keep First Things First. We encourage you leaders to hear this message for ourselves. Many times we can come to church and can be so focused on others (which is great) but we simply forget to hear the Word for ourselves. So let's come this weekend full of expectancy and believe for God to do all He has promised to do.

Thank YOU leaders for pouring out your time, heart, and energy into every service and event. You are the reason Celebration is thriving. We couldn't ask for better leaders! We love you all.

P.S.- Upcoming Events:

United Vibes- Saturday 5pm & Sunday 9 am- For all who are serving this weekend! (KIC do your thing)

2SM-Sunday night-6:30 pm in Clovis. Get your Jr. High & High School Kids there!!

Discipleship Class- Tuesday, Jan. 24th, 6:30 p.m. Jungle Class room. For new volunteers and those who need the tools to developing a relationship with Christ.

Love,
