Thank You Clovis Leaders!

CLOVIS LEADERS! There are never enough words in the English language to express how thankful we are for you and for everything that you’re doing (see picture for more alternatives- lol) to advance the kingdom of God in this city. Each one of you are so unique play such vital role in creating an atmosphere for people to be impacted, and we are THANKFUL!

Just yesterday at our Men's Workshop, one of our G4:2 students talked to someone that is very new to the church. The "new" individual said that immediately as he stepped foot onto our campus, he felt like he was home. Because everyone was so warm and friendly and hospitable, he was able to let his guard down and experience God in a very real way. That’s awesome! Thank you Clovis Volunteers for making that possible!

WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
We want to hear how Volunteering at Celebration Church has impacted your life! Here are some potential questions you can ask yourself to get the ball rolling:

What has God done in your life since you’ve started serving?

What healthy relationships have been developed?

Have you had the opportunity to see someone impacted as a result of your service?

What’s the best part about Volunteering?

We would love to hear your responses! Some of these replies may be read in one of our services or used in this blog, so please don’t hesitate to send them in! Please e-mail them to jacobj@celebrationchurch.cc.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
This weekend we will be having our once a month, Volunteer Orientation! We will be sharing the vision and “why” behind volunteering, and some other great information that you need to know. If you haven’t attended the orientation yet, you need to be there!

This is also a great opportunity to get someone “plugged-in” if they aren’t already. If volunteering has changed your life for the better, let’s get others involved too!

The orientation will take place after our Sunday morning service, in the sanctuary (to the right of the stage). We will give everyone about 10 minutes to use the restroom or checkout their kids before we get started.

FORWARD!
Last weekend, Pastor Randy continued with our awesome Forward series, but left us with a cliffhanger! He explained that we need a rod in our hand to move forward, and I don't know about you, but I'm excited to find out what that rod is!

We want to encourage you, don't look back at the past, but to press your way into the abundant life God has for you! There are amazing promises that God has given us corporately and also individually, so let's march into our Promised Land and take em!

As we are encouraged, it's our job as leaders to encourage someone else. Let's use our influence to get people there this weekend. They need to know that God has great plans for them as they keep moving FORWARD!

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

RICK VIVIAN!
This last week Rick really went above the call of duty and helped improve the facility of our Clovis Campus. The Clovis staff would’ve been like the Three Stooges without him! Besides coming to the rescue, he is also highly involved in other parts of the ministry. Lisa, his wife, and himself are involved with our cGroups and are always opening up their beautiful home to host gatherings. They are also a great asset to the Prayer Team during the weekend and Rick helps as a Men’s leader as well. Thank you Rick for being an outstanding leader on our campus, we love and appreciate you!

FORWARD WE MARCH!

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S WORKSHOP

We are just days away from jumping into the best Workshop Celebration has ever had!

Please help us this weekend by getting men and women on board with us. Use the God given influence you have in people’s lives to get them there and signed up. There’s no need to manipulate them, just tell them what God has done in your life personally at these workshops, and that should do the trick!

Men- This is your LAST chance to get in on our early bird special! $20 for six weeks of food, a binder full of curriculum, and a ton of giveaway prizes- it doesn’t get much better than that!

We’re excited about these next couple of weeks; we hope that you are too!

OUR HOUSE

The job of a host or hostess is no easy task, but if successfully executed, there can be a tremendous amount of satisfaction.

Every weekend we are privileged and responsible to be hosts. Our church that we are a part of is not just a church, but it’s our home! As the leaders on our campus it is our job to see that place as our home. Each service we are welcoming and embracing people coming into our home and as hosts, are there to help them with anything that they need.

Some people may need help in their marriage. Some people want to get more involved. And some are there for their very first time and just don’t know where to start.

It’s our job leaders point them in the right direction; where they can go to get their need met. Familiarize yourself with everything going on at the campus. Help married couples get into a cGroup, give that guy an Interest Card to get involved, and walk that new comer straight to the Visitor’s Lounge where they can start their new journey.

Thank you for being such wonderful leaders and “hosts” in our home. You are knocking it out of the park!

HALLOWEEN BASH!

It’s official! Celebration will be having a Halloween Bash on October 31st!

We will be having a blast that night at the Clovis Campus and want you to bring your families and friends to have fun with us!

Lots of candy, food, bounce toys, and fun for kids and teenagers.

More information to come!

Opposite of BACKWARD is....

FORWARD!!!

Good news leaders--- We are not staying where we are or looking back, we are moving FORWARD!

This power packed series is continuing on, and as a staff we couldn’t be more excited. The truth is, we have been praying and believing for you, and to hear that God wants to move this group of leaders forward is an exhilarating thing to hear! Our weekend is planned out to be great and fun for everyone that attends, but it’s more than just a gathering, it’s an opportunity for God to rock our world!

Let’s keep putting pressure on inviting people to church. Life can be so busy, but we have to always keep in mind the real reason why we are here. There are thousands of people in this city that have been looking for something their entire lives- let’s introduce them Jesus!

MEN’S & WOMEN’S WORKSHOP

The bottom-line concerning our Men’s and Women’s Workshop is that we strongly believe that this is going to be the best one yet!

When we gather together, in gender specific, smaller groups, it gives God a huge opportunity to do big things! For starters, these next couple of weeks will give God a chance to speak to you. We will be diving into some amazing curriculum that is guaranteed to move your life FORWARD. (no pun intended)

Another great reason to be involved is because healthy relationships are established. Men and women get the opportunity to be around other godly men and women that are moving in the same direction as they are. Trust is built and accountability is established. Life is not meant to be carried out alone!

And lastly, these next weeks are going to be fun! When you get a room full of guys or girls together, throw some food in the mix, and have some great giveaways, there’s no stopping the fun!

Leaders we need your help to communicate to get the word out about these workshops. It’s only a success if people show up and get impacted, so let’s get them there!

Here are some details for the workshops:

MEN:
- $20 EARLY BIRD SPECIAL ($25 at the door)
- Wednesdays, September 25th- October 30th (6 weeks)
- Curriculum: Dave Martin, 12 Traits of the Greats
- Catered dinner and dessert
- Curriculum binders. Include worksheets, resource papers, etc.

WOMEN:
- $5
- Wednesdays, September 25th – November 20th (9 weeks)
- Curriculum: Beth Moore, Living Beyond Yourself
- Worksheets included

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

TINIA BROWN
Tinia is an amazing asset to our team! She has been a part of 2sm for four years, and she is such a faithful, committed leader! She is someone we can always rely on, and Tinia never hesitates to put in extra effort to go above and beyond. Whether it’s on a Tuesday night or a weekend service, Tinia’s heart to reach the next generation is evident in everything that she does. Thank you Tinia for your hard work, we love you!

We're Moving FORWARD

Clovis Leaders thank you for taking the time to check out the blog! It is our desire to add value to you first as an individual and as a leader on our campus. Here are a few things to equip you for just that.

FORWARD SERIES

This weekend begins our Forward series with Pastor Randy! The staff understands that most people in life need to move forward from the muck and the mire of life that they are currently in; but we know that this word from God concerning us moving forward has specific ramifications for those that are a part of this movement. There’s no doubt about it!

With that being said, it is imperative for those of us that call Celebration our home to be here for this series. If we are the “leaders” of this campus, then we have the responsibility to first move FORWARD and help lead others; people can only go where their leaders go first.

And just like last week’s post mentioned, it is also our duty and privilege to introduce people not just to church, but to the Creator Himself! Won’t it be wonderful to one day be in Heaven and meet all the people that YOU impacted on Earth? Let’s continue to keep that perspective.

There will be NO Wednesday Prayer Next week (Sept 11th) or the following week (Sept 18th).

We will resume Wednesday nights with:

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S WORKSHOP!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are about to get this party started!

Wednesday, September 25th, at 7pm we will be launching our Fall Workshops that are guaranteed to bring value and help to your life.

Most of you have been a part of these incredible sessions and we need your help to spread the word! Most of you did a great job talking about Miley Cyrus and her.....interesting performance, so I know that you can spread some GOOD words about Men’s and Women’s!

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

OMAR MARIAVILLA!

Omar is an amazing leader. He helps out where ever he can to make our campus better and always gives 100% effort. He plays a big role in 2SM as a student leader and volunteers a lot of his time as a Big KIC leader as well. These two ministries are incredibly grateful that he is on their team! And last but not least, Omar not only swoons the ladies with his great smile but he also uses it to welcome new people onto our campus. Thank you Omar for your leadership on our campus!

FORWARD!

ONE WOPPIN' WEEKEND!

As leaders there are two big things that are required of us going into this weekend:

1) Believe BIG!

Time and time again Jesus said in the Gospels, “According to your faith, it will be done for you...”

Notice that God’s miracles took place in people’s lives based on what they believed could be done for them. God can’t force us to believe but He is limited on what He can do based on our belief. The Bible says concerned the Israelites that they “limited the Holy One of Israel” because of their stubborn unbelief.

Let’s set our faith high! Not only for what God can do corporately in the church, but also in your personal life. There are an innumerable amount of situations taking place, but God is bigger than all of them and why not this weekend be the one that He breaks through!

2) INVITE!

Let’s take a second and look at this passage as it pertains to our second point today. Proverbs 24:11-12 says this:

Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die. Don’t try to disclaim responsibility by saying you didn’t know about it. For God, who knows all hearts, knows yours, and he knows you knew! And he will reward everyone according to his deeds.

Wow! If that doesn’t get right to the heart of the matter I don’t know what does! We have an obligation, as those that have received life it is our duty to give life to others. Not that we are the ones to give life but we are the ones that God will work through.

Don’t let the business of life, or job obligations steal your purpose in life! This is the greatest joy on earth, to see others impacted by Jesus! Clovis leaders, let’s fill up that building this weekend; with God’s help we can do it!

Here are some ways that we DON’T want you to invite :)

RECRUITING!

As you leaders know, the Clovis campus would be a disaster every weekend if we did not have the amazing volunteers that we have. We are so grateful for you! Without you, people would be everywhere! There would be kids swinging from the light poles in the sanctuary, there would be no coffee, which means everyone would be grumpy, and most of all, people would not be welcomed, loved, and cared for.

We are truly thankful for you and are excited to see where God is taking us! Let’s keep in mind leaders, that our church is growing and with that growth God is expecting us to “tend to His flock”. With that growth we need more people to step up and help shoulder the weight. With where we are going we can’t do this thing with just us, we need more help!

Aggressively go after those people with us that you know should be serving. The truth is, serving does benefit the church, but it benefits the individual’s life exceedingly more!

Who are you recruiting???

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

ROLAND RAMON!

Roland has been a part of our Campus Security for many years now and he is the perfect candidate for Volunteer of the Week! He is a tremendous leader on our campus, laying down his life and schedule to serve and we can’t thank him enough. Not only is he very good at what he does, but he also takes the time to love people and sincerely care for them on our campus. Thank you Roland for being an over and above kind of guy! We love you and thank you for all you’re doing on our campus. And also a big thank you for sharing your “money miracle” with us, how inspiring!

This Stuff REALLY Works!

Welcome Clovis Leaders! We wanted to start the blog off this week with some incredibly good looking Clovis Leaders that have some terrific words of wisdom to share with us. This current Dave Ramsey series is certainly one not to miss!

GOD ENCOUNTER
SEPTEMBER 2013

August is flying by and we are already looking forward to our special God Encounter service coming in only two weeks!

Damon will be with us that weekend, and you can always expect him to be fired up when he hasn’t been here in a while!

BOLD INVITATIONS
Live for eternity with NO REGRETS!

One day, we will all be in heaven. Eternity for all of us is just right around the corner. I don’t know about you, but I want to live forever with the satisfaction of knowing that I did everything here on Earth that I was supposed to do!

A big part of that satisfaction will come from knowing that we were bold for Jesus. That we took a stand for Him wherever we went, and that we were aggressive in our efforts to take people with us into eternity. God is excited about us getting the new car, the great job, and having healthy relationships, but I can guarantee that He is much more concerned with seeing people rescued from hell.

Let’s be the answer to God’s heart cry!

Who are you inviting to church with you this weekend? Who can you bring to God Encounter in two weeks? Ask God to put people across your path today that you can help bring to Jesus. This series with Dave Ramsey is a great opportunity to invite the “guy that hates church”- most people need help in their finances, let’s not keep what’s going on as a secret!

BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER
Time to put your swim trunks away- school is back in session! On Wednesday, September 4th @ 7pm in Clovis we will be praying for all of those involved in school. Whether you’re a student, teacher, or in school administration we want to pray for you! We believe that this can be a year that surpasses all other years for you and your children so come be prayed for and let’s see this be a great year!

BE A CGROUP LEADER TODAY!
Do you have what it takes to lead a cGroup? We believe that you do! Take a step out onto the water; this could be the very thing that God uses to propel you into an amazing new season of life. We’ve heard a ton of leaders who have loved this opportunity and we want to make sure you have the same wonderful chance!

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

CAREY JOHNSON!
Carey is an amazing volunteer! He and his family are a vital part of our KIC team and he is always prepared and ready to serve with a great attitude. Carey does an amazing job running the services and leading cGroups; always willing to go the extra step to make whatever he does fantastic. Thank you Carey for all that you do! We love and appreciate you.

We LOVE Clovis Leaders!

This weekend continues with another great message from Dave Ramsey. Last week people left feeling helped and equipped, and we want to make sure you don’t miss it! Here’s a quick clip to wet your appetite:

Is our money really a big deal? Well, not only does the Bible have much to say about the subject, but check out these startling statistics as you consider that question.

·   One quarter (25%) of people surveyed say they disagree with their partner about money monthly or more.

·   Nearly one-third (29%) of respondents also report that they have argued with their partner about money in the last year.

·   Almost 2 million people over 60 are still paying off student debt.

·   “Couples with debt tend to fight more. They are more stressed about their money and some recent research that I have done even shows that debt is associated with divorce.”

·   1 out of 10 Americans carry student debt.

Not only is this series important for us to be a part of but we need to get the word out to others as well! Everyone knows somebody else that is struggling in his or her finances or is eager to learn about how to make more.

Clovis Leaders this is an opportunity for us to throw out the net! What a great opportunity to get them to church!

This is a great introduction to Celebration for someone who’s never been here, and besides, you know that we’re going to be ending right on time! Who do you know personally that you can invite to church THIS WEEKEND???

PRACTICAL HELP:
Check out DAVERAMSEY.COM for more tools and information. There are a ton of free resources for you to use to take your money to another level!

There is also a free web program called MINT.COM that will help you manage your finances. There are a couple staff members who love this tool!

BACKPACK RECAP: THANK YOU!
Thank you Clovis leaders for stepping up and doing an amazing job at the Backpack Outreach. WOW! So many lives were touched and we couldn’t of done it without your hard work and generous contributions. The level of excellence you exhibited last Saturday was off the charts- Celebration truly does have the best volunteers ever!

To express our gratitude to you, not only for helping at the Backpack Outreach but also for your dedication every week, we will have a special little treat for you in our volunteer closet :)

Now don’t get your hopes too high- this isn’t Oprah’s Christmas giveaway, but one day we’ll get there!

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK
PRISCILLA MURO!

This is one great girl! As you know, we had our Backpack Outreach last weekend and Priscilla was a huge contributor to make it happen! She was with the outreach staff countless hours preparing for a successful event; whether it was shopping for backpacks, making phone calls or doing paperwork- she had a big smile through it all! Priscilla’s heart to serve and see lives changed at Celebration and throughout the community is second to none; thank you Priscilla for always going the extra step to make a difference.

“I’m so honored to have Priscilla as a part of our Clovis team! Her passion for God and heart towards people makes us better!” – Brandi Sanders
