A Clovis Christmas...

Hello Clovis Volunteers!

A BIG shout out to all of you who went above and beyond for our Christmas Production! We are so excited about how many souls were won to the Kingdom of God and all the new faces that we saw come through our doors. Thank you for creating a fun, friendly atmosphere, that caused so many people to enjoy their experience at Celebration.

With Christmas just around the corner, last minute shopping, wrapping and tamale making can make this time of the year so busy and crazy but we have a solution to keep things in the right perspective... Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services! Come join us for an amazing time with all of your family; we will have something for everyone. What a better time to re-center and refresh yourselves as we begin the New Year.

Thank you all for your continual involvement in reaching this Valley. We want to let you know that this will be the last post for this year, with many more to come! Also, don't forget to join us for our New Year's Eve service and New Year's day service on Saturday and Sunday. Before you get your party on with your friends, come party with God and begin your new year with purpose.

We love and want to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas from the Clovis Staff! Feliz Navidad!

Celebrating the Life of a Dear Friend

 ~ Da-Sharoi Crocker ~

Da-Sharoi "Da" Crocker, went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, December 12th, 2011. Hopefully you had the wonderful opportunity to know Da and her terrific personality. She joyfully served on the worship team and used her magnificent singing voice for it's intended purpose: to worship the Lord. She shared her contagious smile with everyone she met and according to her mother no one has ever been able to say an unkind word about her.

We will deeply miss her, but are comforted by the fact that she is singing and dancing in the presence of her Creator. We will be celebrating her life this next Monday evening, December 19th, at 6pm, in our Fresno Campus and would love for you to join us :).

Help is Here, The Path is Clear!

The Word of the Lord for this Movement:
HELP IS HERE, THE PATH IS CLEAR!!!

Clovis Volunteers we have stepped into a new, bright season: a season of uncluttered paths and obstacle free destinations. Where there once was confusion and trouble, there is now peace and tranquility, IF we can mix faith with the Word of God that was spoken. Take hold of that word for yourself! Don't let it pass you by like Pastor Cherie has been teaching us about the Israelites who had a promise from God to go into the Promise Land but never got the chance to enter it because they didn't take hold of it. What amazing things God has spoken and done in this Movement just in this month alone!

Last Sunday night with Matthew Barnett was phenomenal; the stories he told, and the jokes he made, but the best thing I thought was the cause that he stirred on the inside of us for our own city. Can't you picture us having a huge facility capable of holding hundreds of lost and hurting people, just looking for a place to stay the night and some food to eat? Or what about blessing underprivileged children like the story of the woman taking 40 young girls all around town? I want to encourage you to keep dreaming big, God inspired dreams; don't place self-imposed limitations on yourself, God lives inside of you and you are apart of His plan to bring a revival to this city!

*Just a side note- Pastor Matthew who travels all over the country, speaking to churches that we think are all that and a bag of chips, said that OUR church had something different about it than any other church he has been to! What a privilege it is to be apart of this!

The miracles that took place Wednesday night is the genesis to what I believe is going to be the biggest outbreak of God's power this Valley has ever seen. Isn't it amazing how if we can just do what God tells us to do like, "lay hands on the sick and they will recover," that we can know that they will recover?! What a novel concept: just do what God says to do! We want to encourage you to write in on Celebration's Testify link on the homepage and take a second to brag about what God has done for you. Also make sure to verbalize your miracle to other people around you; be bold and willing to share God's goodness in your life to others. By doing so you'll build up their faith to receive a miracle too. Don't be a miracle hog! :)

This Weekend
You may want to get some psychiatric help if you think that this weekend is going to be average, especially after what has transpired these last few weeks! We are big advocates of challenging you to come with an expectant attitude, because it's in that type of environment where God can turn loose and bring about a miracle. The Bible teaches us that Jesus was literally unable to do anything in His hometown, besides a few healings, because of the lack of faith and a spirit a familiarity He found there; I don't want to be apart of that kind of church! This weekend we are also asking all of our volunteers to join us for a quick meeting on Sunday, in the Big Kic Auditorium, at 9am. We're going to be getting some vision on how we are going to finish this year strong and we need you, and your gorgeous morning face there, if you are able to :).

In Conclusion...
Let's continue to believe that God is going to perform signs, wonders, and miracles. God didn't use up all of His miraculous power on Wednesday night, He's like the Energizer Bunny- He keeps going and going and going! He's the God of miracles and if you still need one, He's got an endless supply! Pastor encouraged us not to give up on this year: we've got one more month left and this December can be the best month that we have ever experienced. We love all of you dearly and are excited to participate in life with you. What an amazing opportunity God has given us!

Reading this = Nice list

Clovis Volunteers

The best lookin' group around...

Just as much as Brandi is excited about the Christmas season is how much we are thankful for you- I think. That girl has a passion for the holidays like none other!

We are so thankful for your commitment to build the Kingdom of God, I truly believe that we have some of the best volunteers that any church has ever seen. We love you dearly and that's why we continue to post vision and information about our campus on this website so that you can stay in the loop and feel appreciated as a working member of the body. With that being said, here are a few hot items on the plate that we need to communicate with you:

The Volunteer Ball
As you are all aware we have a ton of great things going on at the church these days: the 99, the Star Tree program, the big production and don't forget our normal service times. So many people have given their lives to Christ already and there are so many more to come in the weeks ahead. With our schedule being as full as it is, we are going to be postponing the Volunteer Ball to the month of January or February. We really want this event to stand out and be something that everyone can be apart of so keep it on your calendar but put little arrows next to it pointing to next year :).

We will be having a big party at the conclusion of our last Production service in Clovis that we would all love for you to be apart of and it's only for volunteers. It will be taking place in our west lobby and will be a hundred times more fun than the New Year's ball drop in Times Square! Pinky promise.

The Weekend
Yesterday I went and saw a movie. I had been waiting for months to see it and the big day had finally come. So there I was, in my seat, candy in hand, and an expectation that this was going to be worth the $40 thousand dollars I paid at the door to get in. The lights went down, the plot began, and I was hooked. Then that feeling came. The feeling of, "Darn it! I have to go to the bathroom!" I tried to ride it out  but that was not an option. I speed walked out of there, ran down the hall, went to the bathroom, WASHED MY HANDS, and ran back into the theatre. I would honestly wager that I was gone for no more than 2 minutes until I was back in my seat, enjoying the movie, and chompin' on some peanut M&Ms.

That night, after the movie was over, I thought for a second about this record bathroom time. Then I thought, what if I placed as much expectation on our weekend services as I did on that silly movie- doing my very best not to miss a single second of the worship or the message, how much more would I get from God if I had this change of heart? I want to challenge you to ask yourself these questions- Am I more excited for the things of God or other things? Do I take church and the things I'm learning for granted? Do I take my sweet time getting into service or am I so full of expectation that I'm busting down the doors to get in?

Let's consider these questions and make the adjustments necessary so that God can move in a big way; in fact, let's put these things into practice THIS WEEKEND! Pastor is back and ready to deliver something hot off the press from God that is guaranteed to rock our world. You know how impact-full his messages are, so let's be on the edge of our seat expecting BIG! And remember- Matthew Barnett will be with us Sunday night and you would be a looney to miss that! If you haven't heard him before get ready to laugh and have a good time and also see the dream you have inside come alive.

In Other News...

  • We have 300 stars to pass out for our Star Tree Outreach, so please pick up a star if you haven't already and help us spread the news! If you can, please start bringing in your toys and clothes at your earliest convenience :)
  • The 99 is still rockin' and rolling so if you would still like to participate they have two more weekends left to go. Come see our Events and Outreach Table to see how you can help win souls.
  • The Christmas Production is right around the corner! You all know how effective these services are so take a big stack of Christmas invite cards and let's do this thing!
  • Check out our December Calendar below for all of our upcoming dates!

We love you all like a fat boy loves his Twinkies-

See you this weekend- it's going to be great!
